Alex directs all investment strategies for StratEdge Investment Advisors and prior to joining StratEdge was the Director of Global Fixed Income at Franklin Templeton Investments. At Franklin, Alex directed all global macroeconomic and fixed income research and investments.

Mr. Calvo received The World Bank’s/University of Sao Paulo Macroeconomic Policymaking Certificate, as well as Standard & Poors Credit Analysis Certification. He also holds the Investment Management Certificate from the Investment Management Authority (IMRO) in the U.K.

While at Franklin, Alex also served as a member of Franklin Templeton’s Global Economic Committee and Global Asset Allocation Committee and was responsible for global macroeconomic analysis, with a focus on currencies, interest rates and sovereign credit analysis of developed and emerging market countries.

Alex managed Flagship funds including the Templeton Global Bond Fund, Templeton Global Income Fund, and Templeton Emerging Market Income Fund. Alex’s funds received 5-Star ratings from Morningstar and S&P, and they consistently ranked in the top quartile by Lipper and Micropal.

As a former NY Federal Reserve Economist and Chief Economist/Head of Research for Chase Bank, Chuck brings a unique macroeconomic approach to investing, specializing in All Cap investing, designed to grow income substantially over time. Chuck’s contrarian approach of buying growth at a deep discount adds a new element to the committee as it seeks to broaden its view of micro and macroeconomic policy.

Chuck will provide tremendous insight on fixed income, distressed stocks/markets and alternative investing.

Chuck is frequently quoted in the media. He has appeared often on Bloomberg and is often quoted by Barron’s and The Wall Street Journal.

As an MBA from Harvard and a Large Cap Growth & Income specialist, Tom provides the Investment Committee with economic and geo-political analyses regarding large cap value and growth companies.

Tom is currently the lead portfolio manager for The Rising Dividend Growth Fund, as well as for the Dividend Growth Advisors Separate Accounts. Tom manages in excess of $400 million in AUM.

Prior to creating Dividend Growth Advisors, Tom managed the Sovereign Investors Fund, receiving numerous accolades. He was recognized by Morningstar, Lipper and other financial analytical evaluators for his simple investment strategy that produced consistent performance.

Tom was also recognized by Forbes as the grandfather of dividend investing for being the first to focus on dividends as a strategy to evaluate companies.

Charles Lemonides, CFA

Prior to founding ValueWorks, Charles was a partner and CIO at M&R Capital, an independent Investment Advisory Firm. Responsible for the investment process there, Charles brought his asset-based value approach to the firm when he joined in 1999. This was a discipline originally developed at Sterling Advisors, an investment advisory unit of Gruntal & Co., where Charles was Managing Director beginning in 1995. Charles began his career at Gruntal in the research department in 1986. In nearly a decade of research coverage, he followed Risk Arbitrage transactions, the banking industry, Special Situations, and spearheaded the addition of High Yield Bonds and Distressed Securities to the department’s coverage area.

Charles received his CFA designation in 1989 and is a member of the New York Society of Security Analysts. Charles is a regular contributor to the financial media and makes frequent television appearances on CNBC, Bloomberg Television and CNNfn.


David L. Ruff, CFA

David has over 19 years of investment management and securities analysis experience. David is the Chief Investment Officer of Forward Management and serves as the lead portfolio manager and investment analyst for Forward’s Global Dividend, International Dividend and U.S. Dividend Strategies.

Prior to joining Forward, David served as Chief Investment Officer for London Pacific Advisors where he designed the investment approach for Global Dividend and chaired the LPA Investment Policy Committee.

David graduated magnum cum laude from Iowa State University and earned his certification as a Chartered Financial Analyst in 1994. He is also currently a member of the CFA Institute and the Security Analysts of San Francisco. David served as President and director for the Security Analysts of Sacramento from 1998 through 2001.


Greg Miller, CPA

Greg has over 30 years of investment and financial experience. Greg is a nationally recognized provider of investment advisory services specializing in convertible bonds and principal protected products. He has directed the Limited Risk Investing philosophy of Wellesley Investment Advisors for over 15 years with the primary goal of principal protection combined with investment growth.

Greg began his career with PricewaterhouseCoopers, an international accounting and consulting firm. Subsequently, he formed his own CPA firm, and for 25 years provided a broad range of financial and consulting services to established businesses, professionals, and executives. In 1991, he formed Wellesley Investment Advisors in response to increased demand for investment advice from clients.

Greg graduated from Boston University with a B.S. degree in Business Administration, and holds a Master’s of Business Administration in Finance with High Distinction from Babson College. Greg lectures frequently and has written several articles for financial publications including Institutional Investor, The Wall Street Transcript, Investment Advisor Magazine, the National Association of Active Investment Managers, and Forbes.com and BusinessWeek.


Jason R. Graybill, CFA

With over 18 years of experience in investment management, Mr. Jason Graybill is a Senior Managing Director and Senior Portfolio Manager at Carret Asset Management. He is co-chairman of their Fixed-Income Investment Policy Committee and a member of the Equity Investment Policy Committee. He is a recurring guest on Bloomberg TV and Radio, BNN-TV and CBS News Radio. He is frequently interviewed by leading industry publications including The Wall Street Journal and BusinessWeek, and is a guest speaker at many securities industry events.

Prior to joining Carret, he was a Senior Portfolio Manager at Abner, Herrman and Brock Asset Management and a Research Analyst at Oxford Capital Management.

As the co-chairman of Carret’s Fixed-Income Investment Policy Committee, Jason is responsible for their taxable and municipal bond strategies.
